Officially recognized by Japanese government in 1940, Aikido is a relatively new Japanese martial art created during the 1920s by Morihei Ueshiba. There are no matches or competitions in Aikido. Aikido is not a tool for winning it emphasizes the process involving in the learning experience itself. Through intensive and incessant training, Aikido focuses on developing the inner self.
